Learning to See God as Your Loving Father

You’re my child, why won’t you let me bless you?”

That’s what I felt God asking me a couple weeks ago.

You see, I’m independent to a fault. I struggle to let people take care of me. I think I can and should do it all by myself. I don’t ask for help. I take care of everyone else - I forget I have needs.

But God delights in blessing His children.

One of the hardest attributes of God for me to embrace is seeing Him as a Father. But that’s exactly what He is. I am His precious child who He loves dearly; He’s my Daddy who takes care of my needs.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17 (ESV)

Questions for today:

- Do you struggle to see God as your Father? Why or why not?

- Do you live like God is your Father?

- Do you believe God wants to give you good gifts?
