“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need”
- Psalm 23:1 (NLT)
Sometimes in certain seasons of life it can be so easy to measure up our worth, status and progress based on what WE SEE in the lives of the people that surround us.
Gaining insight and wisdom from the lives of others can be extremely helpful, as we are placed on this earth for each other. However, when we compare what everyone sees about someone else’s life with what no one sees about our lives, we can find our self-esteem, confidence and motivation plummet to the depths of discouragement.
A cover only shows a fragment of the entire book and your book won’t look like anyone else’s because there is only one of you.
You were placed on the earth for such a time as this with your calling and your gifts. There is no one like you, because everything God does is clothed in intentionality.
So don’t see a pixel as an entire picture. You are right where you are supposed to be. You are growing and you are becoming brand new each and every day. You will make mistakes and you will struggle, but rather than going to an Instagram feed to find validation about your current position, go to Jesus. Let Him heal you, mend you and fashion you into the person this world needs you to be today.
Prayer for today: Dear God, today I stop comparing my life to the person next to me. Fix my eyes on you today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
