Meditative Hearts and Thoughts that Run to Him
My mind likes to wander. In quiet moments it tiptoes around dreams, runs over to do lists, wades through worries, dances around what's for dinner - as soon as it has the opportunity, it frolics from thought to thought.
Where does your mind go?
In His word, God calls us to meditate on Him. We are told in Romans 12 to not be conformed to the patterns of the world's thoughts, but to focus our pondering minds on God, training and refining our hearts to be able to be discerning and to know what is good.
Our thoughts and our hearts shape our actions (Proverbs 27:19). May our hearts and thoughts be so firmly rooted in love and the joy of knowing Jesus that the way we live fervently shines Him.
Prayer for today (from Psalm 19:14 and Philippians 4:8):
Guide my thoughts and refine my mind. Let the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Help me to dwell on what is true, honourable, right, pure, lovely, excellent and worthy of praise. Help my mind not to wander around aimlessly, but run intentionally to You. With this firm foundation, may I shine your love to all who I interact with.
For your glory,
